The big boy room

Dylan never slept in his crib for more than 20 minutes at a time. Before he was born we set up an awesome nursery for him with matching white furniture and he didn't start sleeping in that room until very recently because he always slept with us. Now that we are 95% night weaned, he's sleeping in his very own room in a big boy bed.

He's only 16 months old, a little young to be out of the crib and on his own, but he screamed for hours when we tried the crib and so he graduated from our bed to his bed.

I made him this growth chart when he was a baby. Really easy project...just paint a 1x6' board and add lines and stickers.

See his little electric fireplace? It's only 2 ft tall but it is perfect for him. He sleeps with it as a nightlight. And that's Eli Fish on top of his dresser

Sleeping alone has been going great. I have to sit with him until he falls asleep and sometimes he wakes up in the middle of the night, but mostly he is adjusting quite nicely to his new routine. Dylan is learning how to soothe himself to sleep without nursing and although life was much easier when I could just plop him on my chest and he'd sleep in until 10AM, I like the idea of him adjusting nicely to his big boy room just as much.
